Everything you need to know about Bernedoodles, our program, and bringing your puppy home.
From Our Database
Do Bernedoodles shed?
Bernedoodles are considered low-to-non-shedding dogs, especially those with curlier coats. The degree of shedding depends on which generation (F1, F1B, F2) and which parent they take after more. Our F1B puppies (75% Poodle) are the most hypoallergenic and ideal for allergy sufferers.
How long do Bernedoodles live?
Bernedoodles typically live 12–18 years, with smaller sizes generally living longer. The hybrid vigor gained from crossing two breeds contributes to their exceptional health and longevity compared to purebred Bernese Mountain Dogs.
What is included with my puppy?
Every Royal Paws puppy comes with: first age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming treatment, a health examination by our licensed veterinarian, a 2-year genetic health guarantee, microchip registration, a puppy starter kit (food, blanket with mom's scent, toy), and lifetime breeder support.
How do I reserve a puppy?
To reserve a puppy, simply fill out our Puppy Application Form on this page. Once approved, a $500 non-refundable deposit secures your chosen puppy. The remaining balance is due one week before your puppy goes home at 8 weeks of age.
Do you offer delivery or shipping?
Yes! We offer safe, stress-minimized puppy transport to all 50 US states. Our ground transport service uses professional pet nannies who travel with your puppy the entire journey. We also offer supervised flight nanny delivery. Delivery fees vary by location — contact us for a quote.
Adoption Process
How does the application process work?
Simply fill out our puppy application form on our Contact page. We review applications within 24 hours and reach out to discuss your family, lifestyle, and which puppy might be the best fit. There is no obligation during the application stage.
How much is the deposit to reserve a puppy?
We require a $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve your puppy. This secures your place in line and commits a specific puppy to your family. The remaining balance is due one week before your puppy is ready to go home at 8 weeks of age.
Can I visit the puppies in person before deciding?
Yes, we warmly welcome in-person visits at our facility in Kentucky. We ask that visits be scheduled in advance to ensure the puppies are in a calm, safe environment. Virtual tours via video call are also available for families who cannot travel.
How do I know which puppy is right for my family?
We take puppy matching very seriously. After your application is approved, we ask detailed questions about your home, activity level, and family composition. We then recommend specific puppies based on their observed personalities from our daily socialization sessions.
Health & Care
What health testing do the parent dogs undergo?
All breeding dogs at Royal Paws undergo OFA hip and elbow evaluations, full genetic panel testing (degenerative myelopathy, von Willebrand disease, EIC, and more), CAER eye certification, cardiac evaluation, and annual thyroid panels.
